Kleos Children's Community

~ Home Care ~

Kids thrive in a stable home! That is the central idea behind Kleos Children's Community's treatment for the kids that are placed here. Our homes have real, live 24-hour-a-day House parents, as opposed to rotating staff as many institutions have. Each home has a combination of the Houseparents' own children and children placed at Kleos Children's Community.  Currently, the number of children allowed per home is limited to seven.

The homes contain everything you would expect from a loving, secure stable family environment. Loving discipline is enforced with the goal of helping the kids make good decisions and teaching them to walk out the consequences of bad decisions. Chores are assigned, limits are placed, and standards are held high. At the same time, the Houseparents pour love into each child's life to help them work through the issues that brought them to Kleos.

Kleos Dining HallThe sense of community contributes greatly to the family life at Kleos. The Houseparents work together with particular kids. Gordon and Vicki work with the kids right alongside the Houseparents. The Riversbend Academy teachers also work and communicate closely with the Houseparents to help the kids in the academic environment. Even meals are shared. At least one meal a day is prepared in the home to provide a family meal-time. Generally, breakfast and lunch are served in the dining hall to reduce the workload on the Houseparents.

When a hurting child grows in a loving, stable family, fear gives way to confidence; anger to mercy; condemnation to pride and self-esteem!!!
