~ Trish Sullivan House ~

Trish Sullivan House - side view
Trish Sullivan was a nice girl from a good home in Klamath Falls who was having some problems. She and her parents wanted to place her at Kleos, but there was no room. One weekend, Trish made a bad decision. She ran away to San Francisco, where she was murdered. At Kleos, plans were being developed for eight additional houses for kids. When Gordon heard about Trish, he just knew that the first house needed to be dedicated to her memory.

The Trish Sullivan House was designed by Jon Simpson, a Seattle architect, working closely with Vicki. The home will house 10 kids and one set of Houseparents downstairs. Upstairs will contain three utility apartments that can be used to house additional staff or guests. The home has features centered around the special needs of Houseparents. For example:

  • Areas designed to be able to counsel with one child while supervising others.
  • Two sets of washers and dryers to allow the kids to learn to use one while leaving the other available for the Houseparents.
  • A separate bathroom for the Houseparents
The house was opened for occupancy on November 6, 1998. ALL labor was donated, and construction was supervised by local contractor Mel Stewart.
